Please be advised that Monday, Oct. 10, 2022 will mark the end of the summer water level minimums for the Madawaska River. Ontario Power Generation (OPG) will adjust our operations to the allowable operating levels for the fall and winter months. This may result in lower water levels. Upon reaching the proper environmental conditions on the Madawaska River, water levels at our Calabogie Generating Station (GS) and Stewartville GS will be drawn down to support amphibians and reptiles migrating back to wetland areas so they can hibernate safely. This is an initiative supported by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. Residents and business owners along the river are advised to take all necessary precautions to ensure lower water levels do not impact property.
