Open-Air Fire Permits

All residents within the Township of Greater Madawaska are required to have an Open-Air Burn Permit for all open air burning. Daytime burning is restricted between April 1^st – October 31^st.

Burning within the Township is regulated by the Burning By-Law

Apply for an Open-Air Burn Permit

All properties require an open-air burn permit prior to burning. The property owner must apply for the burn permit.

Permit Rates

The following fees apply to open-air burn permits:

• $50 per year
• $25 per month
• $5 per day
• $25 per year for a barrel or incinerator
